PINK ORCHID STUDIO - BUILDING AN EMPIRE WITH INTENTION

20/20 Podcast

WOMEN UNITED YET DIVIDED

Join me Pink Orchid Studio Co-founder, Shannon Mann (@shannonmannofficial) and Life & Wellness Coach and host, Kimi (@klaritybyk) as we dive into discussing why women attack each other and the culture surrounding women on women hate on social media.  We both discuss how patriarchic norms in the South Asian culture support this oppressive behaviour.  I shed some light light on my personal experiences and Kimi taps into the learned behaviours through intergenerational trauma factoring into this level of criticism.

MARRYING OUT OF CASTE

Thank you to all of you that have commented and shared how you related to this podcast. As a South Asian girl and now woman, I have grown up with all of these ideologies forced on me, as have so many of you. I have never been one to accept anything as the 'status quo', I have always questioned why these 'rules' were created. Misogyny & caste discrimination runs deep in the fabric of South Asian 'culture'. Listen to why I believe the rules were created and more important why they have no place in my life, my home, and around my children. We can break this destructive cycle with education and conversation with our families. With the alarming rise of the 'Incel' movement in mainstream Canadian culture, it is even more important to reinforce the values that men and women are equal and how to create healthy relationships with eachother. More than ever we need to value love, respect & compassion between all people regardless of gender, race, ethincity, or sexual orientation. Thank to you @klaritybyKfor allowing others like me to share our stories, and create dialogue about such important topics. Please tag, like, comment, and most importantly share this podcast with someone who needs to hear it. With Love & Respect Always, Shannon xo
